What about Hossa?

Another hockey (Boston Bruins) related post. Sorry. I must warn you that there will be another tuesday night or wednesday afternoon discusing any acquisitions made by the Bruins, or any interesting blockbuster deal(s).

There is a lot of problems with making a Hossa deal that has already stressed out. Say, you trade Kessel, a draft pick and a young player for Hossa. I think many can agree that it would definitely be an upgrade on the offensive side. However, the big question - actually there are several - is will Hossa sign with the Bruins long term? If he does not, then the Bruins will have lost the players that they dealt PLUS Hossa. In other words, the team will be sinking like the Titanic did in 1912. Another question is, Will the Bruins (organization) want to have 2 players earning 7+ million per year? The answer, IMO, is NO. There is no way Jacobs would want that, unless he got some sort of epiphany monday night.
It all comes down to, do you want to sacrifice the young (potential) stars for a player that will help put the offense back on the map for a short time or not? Obviously, if any GM wants to make this deal they will need to be able to talk to Hossa's agent and see what is on his mind. No way would I, as PC, trade for Hossa with a contract extension or knowledge of Hossa's mindset to play in Boston. Unfortunately, the team that does get Hossa, if he is traded, will definitely give way too much for him. I just hope this will not turn out to be another Gonchar-deal or Nylander-deal. That is if we acquire Hossa.
