Nhl 09: Be A Pro

What an awesome sports game, especially be a pro. I used to love playing dynasty mode, but now that I can play online I rarely touch the dynasty mode. I love Be A Pro mode and xbox live ranked matches. I tend to lose plenty against other users but only by 1-2 goals (most of the time). This is the first time I am playing an NHL game on xbox so I am still getting used to the controls (right stick to shoot, hit and most of everything else). Then again I played the 2K series on PS2. Big difference.
My record online is: 8-25-5 HORRIBLE!!! I know.
My Be A Pro stats are better. I am a huge Boston Bruins fan so of course I chose the Bruins. My player name, Rochester Cone (HA HA HA). Keep in mind that I simulated about 20 games for the 10-11 season with Boston.
08-09: Boston 68GP 49G 23A 72PTS +50 232PIM
09-10: Boston 82GP 63G 34A 97PTS +42 205PIM
10-11: Boston 48GP 32G 21A 53PTS +16 52PIM
10-11: Florida34GP 46G 16A 62PTS +41 29PIM
Total 10-11: 82GP 78G 37A 115PTS +57 81PIM
11-12: Columbus

I know you are wondering about the 10-11 and 11-12 seasons. I was basically traded to Florida for Zednik and a first round pick (I believe). That pissed me off quite a bit. WHen I faced the Bruins 3 times I scored 9 goals and had 4 assists. After the 10-11 season I was a free agent and had to chose among 4 teams who offered me contracts: Phoenix, Florida, Columbus or Atlanta. Horrible choices I know. But Columbus was by far the better team. Fuck they made the Stanley Cup Finals in 10-11.

Guns n' Roses

Well that long, really long anticipated album, Chinese Democracy, finally arrived last sunday November 23. Over a decade of twisting the musical tune, financial problems, and Axl Rose's perfectionism the album came to life. The long wait can be seen as both an advantage and a disadvantage. However, the needle on the dashboard is leaning towards a disadvantage view point. A good chunk of rock listeners loved, enjoyed and dazzled for Guns n' Roses album, Appetite for Destruction, which came out in the late 1980s. It was marvelous, some may even argue the best album ever released. When the long anticipated Chinese Democracy album was set to be released many wondered if this was going to be better than AFD.
I have listened to the new album, and I still feel that I need to listen to it several more times before I make a conclusive decision whether it is a great, good, average or awful album. I can tell you this, no matter how many times I give Chinese Democracy a listen Appetite for Destruction will stand atop the pyramid as the best Guns n' Roses album. Some of the songs in Chinese Democracy such as the self titled song and Shackler's revenge seems to have a promising rhythm but lacks great lyrics and an energetic voice (sorry Axl). However, songs like Street of Dreams, This I Love, Catcher in the Rye, make up for the average lyrics and voice in Shackler's revenge and Chinese Democracy (the song). Actually, I must say that I do enjoy the chorus of Shackler's revenge as far as the lyrics go. When I first heard the song Chinese Democracy I told myself "umm, this sounds pretty darn good." But when Axl Rose's voice emerged I paused and said aloud "what the fuck? Is this really the final version of the song?"
I believe this album contains both GNR rock from AFD, but seems to embrace a lighter, friendlier (if I can put it that way) musical tune and vocals (not always aggressive).

What go around come around, kid

It feels like eternity. Bloody hell. Everything seems to get shorter . . . thinner . . . thicker? Remember remember, the fifth of November. Umm, I wonder why. Fuck!
*Raises volume of music*
*Stares at the itunes screen*
Nah. How about this one? Nah, I think I will stick with At the Drive-In.
*Changes song to Pattern Against User*
*Shuts the lights. Lays on the bed with closed eyes*
Out of control.

Stop!

Twenty and counting. October is passing by quickly. Mid-terms are over, but there still seems to be a shit load of work to do. Pulling hairs from the head or crotch is not the best way to release the stress. *pauses* Not that I pull my pubic hair with my bare hands; that would be quite painful. On to other things. I have noticed that I have barely posted the last two months - September and October. It sucks. I got work, but it does suck.
This may be my last post of the month, but most certainly not the last of the year.

One more way

This will be a fun and complex month. Oh, yeah. I doubt I will post much on this blog throughout October and most of November due to all the school work. Hold it. I do promise to post much much more after November. Well, that being said I guess I have nothing else better to lay upon you.
*scratches head*
Perhaps I need to shave my beard, or mustache. Maybe. Period. Time to put the xbox away for a while so that I can work a little more and be a little more distracted. Yeah, I get distracted.

Hockey is back

Hockey is back. The Boston Bruins are back. Hockey is back. Boston. Bergeron! Hockey! Fack. Jesus, it feels so good to watch hockey again. How many times did I say 'hockey?' Fuck.
The first period between Boston and Colorado has been practically one sided - Colorado - if you look at the shot total; 20-5 for Boston. However, the game is tied 2-2. Blake Wheeler gets his first career goal - first as a Boston Bruin. Also, Patrice Bergeron is playing his first NHL game in almost a year.
It feels good.

Just a little

October 9th.
Time to fly, drink and chill. Of course I am talking about my birthday. As much as I'm looking forward to number 20, I know that I will be bombarded with a shitload of work. Fuck.
Just a little.
Just a little love.
What a long fucking weekend. Argh! Time to write some poems.

Insane.....dear God

I'm insane in the Brain.
Loco en el Coco.
You name it, I am it.

It was a good day

As Ice Cube said, "It was a Good day."
Yes, it definitely was.
As U2 said, "Beautiful day."
I Broke the ice, bitch! No, I did not have sex. It was not that kind of ice.

No rest for the wicked (part 1)

A screech from the tires scraping the pavement's soul in the middle of nowhere. The desert. Hot for lust, but devious to those who thirst for it. The night is not any friendly. The car - a bloody red Dodge Viper of all cars - roars through the thick fog in the peak of the night. The middle of nowhere; the devil's hell. The back seat is vacant, but the passengers seat is where the money lies. A man - could not be older that thirty - stood there motionless. His blonde hair was short; he wore a tuxedo, but seemed to be short on cash for a nice pair of pants. Fucking boxers. His jaw wide open as if to scream. His left eye covered with a pirate's patch and his right eye slightly opened. There was dark dry blood slapped on his neck. The man's neck was severed; just below his jaw. The slice wide enough to welcome his tongue, which stuck out like a soar thumb. A Cuban necktie was what they called it. A Cuban necktie of all things.
The other man - him, too, could not have been more than thirty - was driving the old bazooka. That old piece of shit. He lit a cigar with the good hand - the other was missing three fingers. ACDC's T.N.T blasted through the speaker phones while the driver gazed in the mirror to look at his face. He admired it as he stroked his beard, which was similar to that of Fidel Castro. The driver smiled and laughed sinisterly. A hell of a night, a hell of a country - wherever he was - and a hell of a way to die.

You got to feed the monkey

Oh what a wonderful day. Oh, no. Usually fridays means no school, or at least far away from the university. Unfortunately, with my bad luck as of late, I had to waste 2 hours this morning traveling to the university to see one of my teachers. No, I am not in trouble. I am not that much of a bad-ass, though, I can be *wink* I went to see her to talk about the upcoming essay. Fucking A.
I can tell you so much about this beautiful day, but I'm afraid I am not in the mood. I know what your thinking, "What the fuck is he wasting time blogging for?' That is a very astute observation. No, I am not wasting my time blogging. I just . . . well . . . let me see . . . fuck . . . oh, huh . . . quite an unusual . . . . day? . . . nah . . . huh, you know . . . . .bored?
You can see - I hope so - that I am bored right now. Although, I can play some more NHL 09 - an additional 4 hours today - I rather take a break. For a while, no?
On another note - a much more important note - I wrote my first poem in a month. Cheers for me.

Fucking A.

Righteous Kill

Righteous Kill . . . what can I say about this flick? Normally a movie featuring two stars, in this case Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, is bound to be decent at the very least. Normally. Not this time. I would probably wasting my time reviewing the movie in depth, therefore, I will be brief and quick. The movie was filled with plot holes, a weak script, poor acting, and senseless cliche dialogue. It is quite shamelful to watch actors such as Robert Deniro, who has not made a decent film in a decade, and Al Pacino, choose pitiful movies. Argh. Though I must admit that the movie was stupidly-funny and predictable.
A wrongful watch.

NHL 09

God's greatest sports video game. Period. Oh, yeah. The boy from the other side has been playing shit loads of it, but not enough I presume. Although I am not used to the controls due to the fact that I have played 2K series for the last 3 years, the game is fun to play. Fuck, I do not even know if that made sense. It is late.
AHHH.
SO far my record is 1-5-1 :(

Supernatural (t.v show)

Nothing like watching the paranormal at night. Yes, that is right I am watching Supernatural - the first season. I love this show. I started watching the t.v show when it first aired in 2005-2006, but I never got the chance to watch all of season one and season two. In other words, I lost touch with the show. The good news is I have regained my obsession to watch the series. The fourth season begins September 18th. That being said, I only have a couple of weeks to watch the first three seasons - a total of 60 episodes. So far I am at episode 18, which leaves me 4 to finish the season.
Oh, do I love the show. I love it.
In brief;
Two brothers are in search of their father, who has gone hunting for the demon that killed his wife 22 years before the show takes place. The two brothers, Dean being the older one and Sam, the youngest, battle demons, spirits and other paranormal figures in search of their father and the demon that has not only killed their mother, but Sam's girlfriend.
Awesome stuff folks, awesome.

Bloody Coffee beans

Sippin' on some sugary coffee in the land of filthy motherfucka's I can't even see my own reflection. Who can you trust?
*pauses*
And so the day went as follows; I got up at noon, stretched and stacked the course books on top of one another. I then paused. Thought how my day would look like if I chose to sleep some more. Fuck. I read. For 3 fucking bloody hours, I read. When that was done - mind you I did not read everything I had to - I went to play NHL 09 demo. Fucking fuck. I bloody suck. Well, not that I do suck, by my goalie in the game sucks. Fucking EA. The opponent goalie is always, mysteriously, superior than mine. Anways, to make and long and pointless story short, I am 2-17 in 5 minute games. That is 2 wins and 17 loses. Period.

The first week's a bitch

Fucking University!
.
.
.
.
Nah, it has been a fun week. The first week is always long and boring because you usually don't do anything. That was the first class of each course for me. Though, there is a lot of reading to do for this weekend. This long 4 day weekend. I have no school on Monday's and Friday's :D
.
.
.
.
Now, back to watching season 1 of SUPERNATURAL. I LOVE it.

Last post of the month

Farewell August 08, and good early morning to September 08.
.
.
I'm rolling, strolling, kicking that funky psychedelic, while no one gives a shit.
.
.
It's a race against time to figure out the best way to stay close yet far away.
.
.
Much ado about nothing. That is basically it. I got nothing folks. Sorry to disappoint. Less than 30 hours before I depart for my first University class. 30 hours to burn.

Barack, Barack, Barack, Barack!!!!!

What can I say? I am a Obama suporter. It is amazing that after several centuries of American independence, this will be the first time an african-american has the possibility of being the first black president. Perhaps things are changing in America. Hopefully. Blacks in the U.S.A have suffered for too long under white supremacy, slavery, the KKK and racist authority in the U.S.A.
Well, that was my little tidbit right there.
.
.
Moving on. In four days I will attend University for the first time. It will be tough but fun at the same time, so-to-speak. I am also glad to hear that singer Zack De La Rocha and guitarist Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine led a protest in Denver during the Democratic National Committee against the war in Iraq. *Huge smile*

Kickin' that funky shit

It's late, it's dark. I'm bored and so are you. Ha ha ha got you! Hold on, let me grab my third coffee. Stay. Stay. Good dog.
.
.
.
.
.
So last night around 1 am or 2 am - maybe sometime in between - I went to sleep. *pauses* That's a lie. I meant to say, I tried to go to sleep. Fucking Pampers commercial while I try to write something serious. Anyways, what was I saying? Umm, no not that. Oh yeah. So, I am trying to sleep - mind you I was home alone - and I start hearing someone snore and some mumble jumbo. Meh. Now there is a commercial of a girl in her bra eating rice (uncle Ben's). Goddamn it! Fuck!

Eat that Suckaaaa

Oh boy. I have been slacking off on this blog. not to be confused with wanking off. Nope. Don't even think about it. Don't! The reason is simple. Well, kind of. I have been writing a short story (trying to get into the rhythm of writing, you know?) like I told you. Also, I could be a slacker. Which at this point I am. However, I also have to read my driver's manual since my knowledge test is in two weeks. So, yeah. Eat THAT sucka!

Blair Witch Project: Another Review

Alright, where should I begin? I know, I know, this is an old movie that came out nine years ago. Believe it or not, but I have seen it for the first time today. Let's just say it is my type of film. A movie revolving around the paranormal and that which encourages its viewers to use his or her imagination in putting the pieces together.
For those of you who have not seen this movie - though I believe you have heard of it in one way or form - may or may not like it. It is as simple as that. Love it or hate it. If you hated Cloverfield, then you will hate The Blair Witch Project. Brief and simple without going into major details: The movie takes place in the woods near Burkittsville, Maryland 1993. Three teens - one girl and two guys - decide to film a documentary on the Blair Witch, which has stirred up many myths and horror. As they begin wondering in the woods they realize that they are not alone.
Ooooooohhhh, Ahhhhhhh. Eeeeeeeee.
The ending may leave some in disappointment because it is an open ending. I liked it a lot. The characters were well written and seemed realistic in which one can relate to. Though I must admit that Heather was fucking annoying at times. The first 30-45 minutes is slow and nothing 'eerie' happens, but soon after that it begins. :D

AH, my balls!

" You like em' big hairy balls, eh? " --- T.J from Deuce Bigalow: European Gigalow.
*Cat jumps on T.J's balls* lol

Oh boy, such a horrible movie, but not so painful to watch. That scene made me laugh, even though it got a little repetitive when T.J, played by Eddie Griffin, keeps smacking the cat with several utensils. Well, it is as bad as Austin Powers in Goldmember, which I saw last night. Now that movie was complete shit. Really. Many, many scenes in the movie were repetitive and not funny. Argh. Oh well.

So far I have been thinking of what my short story will be about. Why and how it will impact the audience. I have the idea and I do know what I want to do with it. The only thing standing in my way is writing it. Even though I have written one chapter (300-400) words, I am still unsatisfied. There is a of of work to do.

Bottle Shock: a review

It really feels like I don't post anymore. Damn!
Some hours ago I attended a free preview of the small budget movie. I do like Alan Rickman - who can forget Hans Gruber from Die Hard? - and I hope my brief review won't be biased. Well, I try not to like a movie because of a particular actor/actress, but sometimes one cannot help it. Here we go.
Bottle Shock takes places in 1976 when a english wine store owner, Steven Spurrier, played by Alan Rickman decides to hold a contest to determine the best wine, both french and american. Apparently there have been rumors that the vinyard in California will produce the best wine in years to come. Spurrier does not believe this, which is why he heads to California in search for the best wine. That is the synopsis for the movie.
The characters are easy to love, especially Dennis Farina's Maurice. Though he does not have a lot of screen time. There is also a triangle conflict between two best friends, Bo, the Chateau Montelena's (Californian vineyard) son, and Gustavo, a Mexican working for Bo's father, and the new intern, Sam (a young woman). The triangle has a good promise but fails to live up to its expectations. There seems to be moments that compel the audience to believe that something will happen, maybe a fight between Bo and Gustavo, maybe another complication between the boys and the girl - something - but nothing really. Nevertheless, the film makes up for this with a good cast from Bill Pullman, Bo's struggling and depressed father, Alan Rickman's exquisite serious and dark comedic voice, and Chris Pine, who played Bo.
As my cousin told me, ' even though the movie is predictable, it gives the audience a warm feeling. ' The movie does not try to force the audience to love a certain character, but it is hard not too. If you go see Bottle Shock with the expectations set by wine movie, Sideways, then you will be disappointed. Take the movie for what it is worth. Bottle Shock is not trying to be fancy, explosive and edgy. It does try, and in the end succeed, to be simple and charming at the same time.

Review Grade: 7.5/10

3 Weeks

3 more weeks until University starts. Fuck! Summer has been going by so bloody fast. Fuck!

All those things that are lost

Games, games and more games. W00t!
I feel like i'm drifting away from this blog. I really do. It sucks, I know. Even though it is almost the middle of August, it is shocking that I have written very little. Very little. I recently started another blog, but that is today. In other words that is no excuse for my lack of posts. Not that I am trying to find an excuse. What is up with me? Why is everything up and not down? I am currently looking for a job. I will continue to do so this week. Perhaps apply at a grocery store or video store. I have just sent my cv and application to a book store, and perhaps HMV, a music store, will be sent in due time.
Fuck. I am drifting.

Civilization Revolution (xbox 360)

Oh God. *Orgasm* Sure, wtv. No. I bought Civ the other day, of course I tried the demo and loved it. Since the minute I started playing Civ, I knew I would love it. I do. Oh my. Working as different civilizations while trying to build your civilization by conquering other civilizations. Oh, the joy.

The Long Halloween

*thinks*
*scratches head*
Yesterday. Wow. Yesterday I read all 370 pages of graphic novel, Batman: The Long Halloween. Obviously, 370 pages in a graphic novel is not the same as 370 pages of a Stephen King book. Still, it was a pleasant trip. Awesome dialogue, though some seemed repetitive. The end, as told by many critics, will leave you puzzled and shocked. Yes, I was shocked. Yes. Awesome Batman story. The next Batman graphic novel will be Batman: Year One by Frank Miller. I have also read Sin City: A Dame To Kill For and The Big Fat Kill. Awesome shit. Damn, I love graphic novels. :D

Thursday, July 31, 2008

Today seems like Tuesday

What a super day today. *happy smile*
:D
I bought another Sin City graphic novel and I bought Batman: the long halloween. Well, that is not the main reason why I had a super day today.
No more details, ok?

Rating the movies I saw this week

The Machinist: 8.5/10
Very good story and strong acting by Christian Bale. Besides the surprise ending, it was very well paced without a dull moment.

Memento: 7.5/10
I have never seen this movie since it was released in 2000. I found this movie similar to The Machinist: I will not say how or why because then it would spoil both movies. If you see both movies, then you will notice the similarity. Good movie overall, though, it was quite confusing the first 20 minutes.

The Dark Knight: 9.5/10
Awesome.

Romper Stomper: 6.5/10
Well, I have been told too watch this movie for a while. I have also been told that it is better than one of my favorite movies, American History X. I did watch Romper Stomper, but in my opinion, it is not better than American History X. Though, Romper Stomper was made nearly 10 years prior American HIstory X, it did have one good actor, Russell Crowe. However, Edward Norton was just a better and more convincing actor. American History X had a better scripted story, acting and a stronger sense of the skinheads in the world.

Can't stop it

Holy Shit!!! I am in love with the One Day As A Lion album. Seriously. Damn, this is unbelievable. Aggressive beats with one of the best angry, passionate and bold voices ever. Oh My God. The four years was worth it. Definitely. I have been playing this album non-stop. I'm probably driving my neighbours crazy, but who cares. Fuck, nearly every saturday there's loud dance music due too parties on my street. Fuck it, let them hear some 'good' music. Ha ha ha ha.
The thing is there is only 5 songs on the EP record. Hopefully there will be another album released with more tracks. That's my only beef with the record: not many songs. Only 5. Either than that, there is nothing wrong with it. No Complaints. Oh, man I love it.

One Day as a Lion

It has been talked for years, far too many years. Over 4 years. Ever since the band Rage Against the Machine parted ways in 2000 there were rumours that lead singer Zack De La Rocha was making plans for a solo career. Nothing was confirmed. However, within a couple of years Zack De La Rocha performed music with known singers such as Trent Reznor of NIN in the song, March of Death, as well as C.I.A with KRS-1. It took a while. RAGE fans have been waiting for a long time. A Long, long time. In 2004 it was confirmed that Zack De La Rocha was indeed working on a solo album. 4 Years later, July 22 2008, that solo album was released.
Zack De La Rocha and Mars Volta drummer, Jon Theodore form ONE DAY AS A LION. We all know that famous quote (I cannot remember who said it, but I will get back to you on that), "I'd rather live one day as a lion then a thousand days as a lamb."
When I first heard about the album released I got so pumped and hyper. Awesome shit. Vintage De La Rocha.

The weekend

Yesterday was the first time I went to see a Montreal Impact (soccer) game in about 4 years. Watching a game with 2 beers and a shitload of close goals (about 10!) makes it, no doubt, a hell of a time. After the game my friend and I headed down to downown (ha, that sounds funny, 'down to downtown') for some Subway and some more beer. Umm. We ended up sharing 6 liters! 3 Liters each!!!! The day before I had 2 Tequilla Sunrise (my new favorite drink after Jack & Coke), 1 Gin & Tonic (too dry) and 1 Jack & Coke.

X-Files or Sex-Files?

Tonight should be fun. Key word: should. Attending a wedding hall......well I do know the person through cousins and uncles, but I'm not going to stay long because I have plans to go to a club/bar later that night. Nevertheless, my cousin and I are planning on crashing it. Yes, like Wedding Crashers. HA! I'll say my hello's and congratulations, but I will most definitely drink :D *wink*
Hopefully I won't be back home too late. I'm thinking of 1-2am because the next day I'm going to watch a soccer game with a friend in the afternoon. More beer there. And, yes, I will be watching the X-FILES, not to be confused with the SEX-Files. That will be tuesday. Obviously, not by myself. Ha!

Façade

Everything is nothing,
Everyone is an imagination,
This disaster never happened,
Every cloud is going to fade tonight.

What am I here for?
Am I part of this imaginary destruction?
Is this nation divided and conquered?
Why is it hard to understand her?
All these questions, but very few answers.

Nothing is real anymore,
Everything is nothing,
Everyone is an imagination,
This disaster never happened,
Every star is going to fade tonight.

I don't know why this horror keeps happening,
Is it real or is it all in my head?
Another correspondent, another unpredictable woman,
Keep the troubles coming,
Pour me some unsatisfaction,
A world filled with hope is a world filled with disaster,
This disaster.

Everything is nothing,
Everyone is an imagination,
This disaster never happened,
Every star is going to fade tonight.

Oh yeah. Rolling down the street with my (insert). Alright. Kicking the jams to Taking Back Sunday, some Serj Tankian and some catchy Nirvana. OH LA LA LA LA OHHHHHH LA LA LA.
OH LA LA IM GOING LA LA LA LA INNNNNNNN-SAAAAANNNEE LA LA.
I need a break from all of this.

Tainted Boulevard

Lying outside on dry land,
Watching all the stars disappear,
With all this movement inside,
I feel alive with you by my side,
Sometimes I feel like the hunted one,
Sometimes I need to think about what I have done,
Under the stars,
Under the crescent light on Tainted boulevard.

The fear slithers inside me,
Through my skin piercing my heart,
But not all alone, I got you by my side,
The moon is dark tonight,
The light is dimming, while bullets are flying,
The night is wild,
The summer is dawn on Tainted boulevard.

Insane

Alright, this time I promise a longer post. Though, I am unsure what I will talk about in the next couple of lines, words or space for that matter. You know what, my next post will be a poem. Yes, sir! Ok, back to my promise. I have too much on mind right now, but I know that writing something on this blog will release a little of what's on my mind - not that I will reveal it (it's not family matters that's for sure). *irritated* Fine! It's about a damn girl. Happy?! Fuck.
*clears throat*
-So, Claudio how have you been doing?
-Oh, I'm alright. Kind of going nuts in this cubicle, but alright I guess.
-Anything interesting to note?
-To note? Am I fucking being interviewed? Well, I guess I am Smith. I guess I am.
-Any illnesses you would like to express, talk about?
-Illnesses? What the fuck is this? Dr. Phil show.
-No, no. No Dr. Phil show. I assure you. Let's skip that question.
-No shit, huh?
-Have you been reading anything interesting as of late?
-Jesus Christ. What is this twenty questions? Can you make some interesting ones at least? To answer your question, I am currently reading House of Sand and Fog.
*takes a huge sip of water*
*spits it out*
-Who the fuck put vodka in my glass? Son of a bitch!
-Claudio, umm. That must be mine.
*stares*
-Alright, cut the crap this instinct. What the fuck is this, huh? These idiotic questions that you know about already. What's next? What's your name, sire? What does your shirt mean, Rage Against the Machine? Are you an alcoholic? Jesus.

The Dark Knight 2 : One more time

The Dark Knight. How can I put it? Best film in a LONG time. Hands down. Literally. I think I want to watch it again. NO. I WILL watch it again. It's worth it. Normally I do not watch the same movie twice at the theatres - actually, I do not think I have ever down that or even thought about doing so - but I really want to see it again.

Summer Read Complete list

My goal is to read at least, minimum, 8 books this summer. So far I have read 6.

Something Wicked This Way Comes (289 pages)
Metamorphosis and other short Stories (88 pages)
The Martian Chronicles (182 pages)
The Shining (683 pages)
Live and Let Die (282 pages)
Heart-Shaped Box (351 pages)

I have been trying to read We The Living by Ayn Rand, but too dense at the moment. Argh. I might leave it be for now and start House of Sand and Fog.

The Dark Knight

In about 6 1/2 hours I will be watching The Dark Knight. Hopefully I will get a seat at the edge of the row so that my knees to give out. Hopefully.
And, yet, another short post.

ARGH

Tired. Dead. Bored. Numb. *Falls asleep*

-what a pointless post-

Unknown

Time ticks slowly
Killing any momentum commencing,
Every drop of tear of rain,
Brushed away throughout elimination,
And all the fear inside ignites,
And all our hard work destroyed,
Everyone we knew shot and buried,
All the plants that grew
Dead like us,
Any momentum they put to rest.

Exploring any solution,
What we have left is not much,
One way out,
Revolt!

We cannot brush the history behind this stone,
We cannot die without a fight,
These hands cleanse the world but also destroy,
The hard working slaves were pushed and killed,
There's no respect, they only care about the profit,
We need Change! We need Change!
Would you rather be dead, but save the world?
Or rather dead and gave up your soul?

Revolt!
Exploring any solution,
Revolt!
What we have left is not much,
Revolt!
One way out, one solution,
Revolt!

Hellboy II : I said I would

1 Guinness and 1 Oatmeal Stout beer. That was last night, of course. I could have gone for another, but I did not want to push it. I guess. This was all before watching Hellboy 2, which was a sweet, slick-ass movie by the way. I am so not in the mood to write a review, at least not a long and detailed one at that. Though, I will say this it was an awesome blend of humor and stylish action sequences. Sweet blend. It is rare to see a movie have such a good - actually strong - blend of both humor and action, and still creating a great overall movie. The last movie I can remember having a good blend of both - though, one must acknowledge that today it is not so good - was Lethal Weapon 1 and 2. Well, the second Lethal Weapon was good, but it did not have a good balance of both - in other words, best of both worlds. Hellboy 2 did. It seems that a lot of sequels have been getting better, which has been a surprise. Mind you, there has not been many. However, there has been more than those of the 80s and 90s. Obviously, the best sequel would be The Godfather: part 2, but that is my opinion. We have seen number two movies being better than the first one: one may think of Spider-man 2, though, the third one did not match up to par with the first, sadly, the Bourne trilogy, brilliant, Harry Potter - keep in mind that the second one was not as good as the first, but the third and fourth were. Hellboy 2 can be added to that mix as well.
Overall I would give this movie a 9 out of 10. 9/10

Do you care? Would you read it? maybe. maybe. low caps. nice. very. very. Fuck. I lost track of what I was about to say. Trance. Going into a trance. Oatmeal beer. Oatmeal. Beer. Yum. What. The. A pause and a quick coffee break: a smokin' hot one

That girl is smokin' hot, I tell ya. She's got a smile that will eat you up and melt your cold heart. The eyes on that one. Smokin'. It ain't weed or any drug, I tell ya that. Smokin' red hot. Who am I talking about? Christ, if I would tell you everything there is too know than life wouldn't be priceless or a surprise or breathtaking or something along those lines. What I am really getting at is that I finished reading Heart-Shaped Box. Yeah, great read. But not as smokin' as the girl. Yup, that one. Gorgeous. She's on my mind that I cannot think about the next book to read. *thinks* Sweet Jesus!

Blaze

Chillin'.
A toast to the wicked. A toast for the hungry. A memory faded and burned. The light flashing on and off. The end of the procedure? A wicked sense of humor. The disguise: we hide behind closed doors, behind our true identity. Scared, shaken and shattered. The true identity of the world.
Chillin'.
Music blaring in the room. Circles and circles of smoke filling the corners. The old plant adjacent to the television and the book shelf. Flames blaring. Fire. The curtains, the sheets, the cupboards, the clothes, underwear, shirts, everything, everyone. Gone. Rain of fire (??).
Chillin'.

Geez, I have no idea what I was trying to write. Sorry for wasting your time.

Screw You Oreos

That is right. Screw You Oreo's. Screw You! Damn it. Screw You for making this delicious Oreo fudge cakes called Cakesters. You know I have been trying to stay away from sweets and read more books. You know it! But NO, you had too make something so delicious and full of sugar and fat. I had two and I want another. Another! You hear me? But I cannot. This I refuse to give in. I refuse. I will not. No, I shall not eat another Cakesters.
*Looks at the Cakesters snack pack*
Fuck YOU!!
*Pauses*
FUCK---
*Takes a pack of two Cakesters out*
*Pauses*
I'll be right back. *walks away*

Day 2: Movies, buses and automobiles

It is my second day at home free from work. Yes, free. For a short time, I guess. Once again I woke up late despite being awaken by my brother who for some reason had to sit on the edge of my bed and give me a creepy look. Well, that was 2 and a half hours before I got out of bed and brushed my teeth. Yes, I am not dirty beast. Wow, shit, it is close to noon and all I have done is rent 2 movies. Yes, I am sometimes active. And sometimes not. We all are. . . Right?
Twenty minutes after I awoke I took the bus to the video store and rented The Bank Job and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Don't get angry at me, please. I have not watched the Harry Potter movie. I did enjoy reading the novels, but only stopped at The Goblet of Fire, which was an interesting novel. Hey! I have been busy reading. . . . other stuff. HEART-SHAPED BOX, OK!!! Oh, yeah, and I walked for 30 minutes from the video store to my house. Talk about being active! Bang.
I guess this is movie day. Oh, and tomorrow I will be seeing Hellboy II. Yup, movies, movies, movies.

Now. Nothing. Stopped reading for break.
What a beautiful day.

Heart-Shaped Box

A novel.
Paranormal.
A gothic former musician buys a dead soul (which is inside a heart-shaped box) online only too realize that the dead soul controls the minds of the gothic musician and whoever he encounters in the house (the musicians home, of course).
A novel.
Chill.
Author: Joe Hill
Son of: Stephen King
My type of novel.
Sure I love reading novels concerning politics and history, but horror stories as well as ghosts/spirits told be none other than Stephen King, and also now his son, Joe HIll, are also very intriguing.
I have read 1/3 of the novel, very short 351 pages, and so far so good. Joe Hill tends to go back and forth in the plot, both character and ongoing dilemmas.

It's been a while . . . a long while

It feels dead in here. Seriously. It has been a while since I have really gotten into writing on this blog. Most of it due to the 10 day vacation. Alright, not all of the blame can be attributed to it. 20 percent? 15 percent? Alright! I have been reading more, if that interests you in any way. During my 10 day vacation I read two novels: The Shining by Stephen King and The Martian Chronicles by my present favorite author, Ray Bradbury.
I read. I read a lot. The Shining, which was 683 pages, took me 6 days to complete it. That is an average of 114 pages per day. I sometimes read 180 pages in one day and another 150 pages on another day. Nevertheless, I read the novel in 6 days. Should I get a reward? Nope. Am I asking for one? I would say yes, but i'm sure there are some nuts out there that would read a 700 page book (aprx) in a day. Bunch of nutballs. Seriously. The other book, The Martian Chronicles, a 182 page novel dwelled upon the horrors of earth and man's fascination to take over territory and Mars and dress their own values to it while destroying the present ones. A light read. Light.
On the other hand, the Shining was fucking with me. Perhaps I read too much. Yeah, that is what I keep telling myself. But the book was making me go nuts. Not angry nuts. Not psycho nuts like Jack Torrance. More of a "I see things" nuts. I was reading so much that at times certain items (couches, chairs, walls) would seem blury. I would start going nuts, thinking about what I should be doing, if I closed the door, if I shut off the stove, if I did this, if I did that. I was being a little hysterical. Now, keep in mind that I was not shouting, yelling and making sure others were aware of this. They were not. At one moment, I was so into The Shinning, that the room would become so quiet that the softest noises would creep me out.

The Return

The ROCK has come back from Puerto Rico. *Turns up The Rock anthem from wrestling*

No Damn USB cord

ARGH!
Today I decided to buy a laser printer, which I needed badly because the ink for the other printer (lexmark) costed a lot and ran out pretty quick. Anyways, I buy this laser printer for under 100 bananas. I'm happy. The dog's happy. I'm happy again. I reach home in which I was positively sure I had a USB cord to connect the laser printer to my MAC. Well, do I have to spell it for you? HINT: read the title.
.

Fuck!

Another blog

I have created another blog called Free Agent Frenzy. An NHL blog about the upcoming (July 1st) free agents (who signs where, how much, and all that shit).

GTA 4 completed

That is correct. I have completed the story missions in GTA 4. W00T! This is my first GTA game that I have completed. I have tried GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas, both which I never finished. The main reason why I sucked in those games, well actually I just got stuck, was due to those fucking (plane/helicopter/boat) training missions. Especially the helicopter and plane training missions. I sucked. Ok! I just sucked. The twists and turns. Turn this way, go through those holograms in one minute and so on. A major pain in the ass. In GTA 4 there were not any training missions as those I have finished explaining. Sure there were the learning missions where you had to use a bike, boat, plane or helicopter for the first time, but it was not too hard. I really enjoyed this game. The only problem, well there are two, is that you cannot buy property or invest in a certain property as the past two games, and that this new GTA game felt kind of short (story mission). The story missions (90 of them) did not take me too long. The last mission, however, was a major pain in the ass mainly because I did not know what to do near the end of the mission. No point going into details for those who have not finished the game. Let's just put it this way, I failed about 6 times in the last mission not because I was shot to death, but because I did not make it in time.
I shall post all my stats (the important ones) soon.
W00T!

The Incredible Hulk

I have just finished watching this 'gigantic' and 'monstrous' film a couple of hours ago. Ok, so my words in quotation did not get you all warm and fuzzy. Big deal. Actually it is a big deal to Bruce Banner. Yeah he told me. Now shush and continue reading if you don't want me to get hungry....I mean angry. *pauses* Oh shush you. If you would have seen the movie, then you would have understood the whole 'hungry' and 'angry' connection. Jesus, Joseph and Maria! Damn my wrist is killing me right now. As a matter a fact, my right knee was bloody killing me throughout the film. At one point I thought I would get so angry and get some adrenaline from out of nowhere and become the incredible Hulk. *pauses again* Sigh. Once again I tried to make you laugh. Once again I failed.
Alright, straight to the film. I do not want to spoil the movie for those who have yet to see it. Therefore, I will be brief and point out several things. Like the GREEN hand! I'm kidding. Please do not go tell your mom. Please? Overall the movie was decent. Yes, CGI was used an incredible amount of time, but surprisingly it was not as abused in the first film directed by Ang Lee. Boy was that horrible. Perhaps it is because I really like Edward Norton's ability to make scenes so realistic, heart warming and the ability to related with the audience, that I may be a little biased. Norton did a splendid job, but for obvious reasons he was not as fierce and bold as he was in American History X or Fight Club. Ok, I can let that pass considering this was a superhero movie, and that not every scene is supposed to be realistic.
The movie did lack in certain areas such as Elizabeth Ross' (Liv Tyler) boyfriend, who disappeared mid way in the film. He had very little screen time and just . . well . . . disappeared. Some scenes were just exaggerated; when General Ross and a good chunk of the U.S army attack Bruce Banner/Hulk in-front of a university, army tanks, helicopters came from nowhere. They just kept coming. It seemed unrealistic.
I am not an avid Hulk fan as I am an Iron Man fan (yes, I have followed Iron Man for quite some time. The movie was awesome, but not brilliant). Perhaps as an avid Hulk fan I would be more disappointed than I am (which I am not) considering the fact that I would notice the changes in plot and various story-lines that should have or should not have been included. Who knows? The point is, if you do not know the story of the Hulk (who does not?) then this movie somewhat gives you the idea. How he became the Hulk is briefly and quickly explained at the beginning without any dialogue. However, throughout the movie the various characters make reference to Bruce Banner becoming the Hulk.
Hulk grade: 8/10

Leaving the Job

Well, that crummy job, which used to be fun once upon a time, will be over in two weeks. That's right. Two weeks. I met with my boss today and he told me that the higher boss is willing to give me 12.09$/hour if I decide not to go on vacation in two weeks knowing full well that I just got the tickets and will not refuse to go. The other option was to work the next two weeks at minimum wage, 8.50$/hour, go on vacation and not come back. Well, I chose the second option. In fact, I did not even have a bloody choice because the asshole already knew that I was going on vacation and would not back out of it. Keep in mind that I got the tickets a couple of days ago and will be going with my family and my cousin.
What pisses me off is that the union representer had had asked the high boss two weeks ago to give me a raise because 8.50$/hour was shit for the work I was doing. Once again, keep in mind that this was my fourth summer working there. It took the asshole two weeks ago, today, to reply. Two fucking weeks! It pissed me off. Also, the other boss told me that the higher boss (the asshole) had already received applications and calls from students and people who want to work where I am currently working. What a fuck! It shows that the asshole doesn't care; that slimy, no smiling son of a bitch.
Anyways, I'm out in two weeks. Even though I am happy to get out of there I feel pretty unappreciated by the way the asshole and the boss handled things. Fuck 'em. Honestly, I am a better worker, more efficient and more reliable than half the workers there. But, anyways. Life is....well, sometimes it can throw you curve-balls.

The land of the free

I cannot breathe,
I cannot see through this disease,
I'm suffocating with all this debris,
I'm losing myself in this chaos,
Everything on fire,
Everything blows apart.

Is this what you call home?
Is this the land of the free?!

Nuclear warfare, C4 through the city!
No more waste, no more food,
No survivors,
This fascist act leaves me choking,
I cannot breathe,
I cannot see through this disease.

Is this what you call home?
Is this the land of the free?!

A sad day

Portugal lost 3-2 to Germany. Fuck. I was hoping for an Italy v. Portugal final. I guess not. Damn.
Back to Fifa 08' :D I have been playing too much xbox, too much. Yup, I know..... tsk tsk tsk.

Euro 2008: Round two (Knock out)

It's official that....
Thursday: Portugal v. Germany
Friday: Turkey v. Croatia
Saturday: Netherlands v. (Second place of group D)
Sunday: Italy v. Spain

Portugal v. Germany will be a splendid game, or at-least it should be. I am hoping that Portugal defeat Germany as I am rooting for Portugal and Italy.
Friday's game between Turkey and Croatia should be a no-brainer, but you never know. We have seen some upsets so far in the group games (Germany v. Croatia, Italy v. Romania and so on). I must say Turkey has impressed me quite a bit, but I doubt they'll be good enough to defeat Croatia.
There are two teams that should be watched closely throughout Euro 2008. They are Croatia, who have been heavy underdogs for quite a long time, and the Netherlands, who have been more than stellar so far.

Fifa record (Manager mode)**

I keep this updated, so it will be my top post each day for a while.

Italy v. France

It is a must win for both teams; this is the only way either team can hope to qualify through group stage. A Netherland win over Romania gives hope to both France and Italy, while a tie or loss to Romania opens up Italy's and France's wound even further.
My prediction:
Netherlands will play their substitutes after they get a 1-0 lead. Netherlands defeat Romania 1-0
Italy pull off a stunning win, which they did not deserve) 2-1

A must win tomorrow

Tomorrow's afternoon game for Italy is a must win. A loss will eliminate them, and a tie will put them at risk to be eliminated. Even though they play Romania, it will not be easy since they are both defensive teams. Also, smaller, nothing to lose teams are the worst to face at any times. The game begins at 12pm, while I'll be working. FUCK. I am worried. I will not lie. If Italy wins tomorrow, then they will have to atleast tie France (if France lose to Netherlands) or win. Nothing less. I prefer that they win both games. If anybody can win two consecutive (important) games, it is Italy; but we shall see. On another note, Christiano Ronaldo is just....WOW.

Fifa 2008

I decided to buy FIFA 2008 (Xbox 360) out of the blue. Perhaps it is the exhilarating feeling I was getting from euro 2008 or perhaps it was the fact that I miss playing sports game (half truth), who knows. I had a craving for a soccer game, that is true. Though I do not know which soccer game is best and which as which mode, and so on, I managed to take a couple of hours to read and find out. What I wanted was a soccer game that featured several national leagues such as the Italian league, English Premiership and so forth. Fifa 2008 had just that.
Well. I made my profile in Season Mode playing as my favorite team, AC Milan. The first 4 games were basically tutural for me, however, they counted. I had 1 tie and 3 loses (0-1-3). After the first 4 games I began to get a hang of things; I knew how to shoot (as funny as that sounds, I kept shooting at the goalie instead of going for the crazy twists and turn shots), I knew how to defend better (I was poor at that) and I knew how to strengthen my passing. Nonetheless, I won the following 3 games and managed to lose 1 at the last minute of the game. How depressing....I know. My top scorer is......it's horrible I know......Ronaldo (NOT Christiano, though, I wish it were). Ronaldo, the fat, buffed, no good soccer player. Though I must admit he was a star with Inter a long time ago.
Record: 3-1-4 (W-T-L) I believe I have 7 goals, while allowing 12 goals. Horrible, :(

I have not played enough to rate the game out of 10, yet, but once I get more involved and discovering newer techniques and modes, I will be able to do so.

0-0-1

Well after their first game of Euro 2008, Italy has turned what could have been a highlight game and great result on their part to a horrendous start against Netherlands. Personally, I was expecting a tie between the two teams, however, I got more than I expected. A Netherlands win. Well, there is still about 2 minutes as I am typing this, but there is no way that Italy score 3 goals in 2 minutes. Oh well. Italy have been known for their notorious sluggish group starts. What they are mostly known for, besides their impenetrable defense (what happened today?), is their capability to step up when the game is on the line (do or die matches).
To be honest, I do not want to nor do I feel like getting into details about every single goal or every single lazy calls or missed calls for that matter. I will point out that the first Netherlands goal was way offside, like a mile. It should have never counted. Unfortunately, the linesman closed his eyes and screwed Italy on that call like italy was screwed in Korea/Japan 6 years ago (correct me if I am wrong on the date). As I already mentioned, Italy was sloppy and the Netherlands were by far the better team. What surprised me the most today was the fact that the Netherlands easily got through the Italian defense. The Netherlands made it look too easily when in reality it is not. This is the first time in 30 years that the Netherlands have defeated Italy in Euro/World Cup.
Luckily France tied to Romania 0-0. This will give Italy a slight chance to make it. As usual, nothing is over 'till it is over. However, I will not lie to you; this is not a good start for Italy.

Euro 2008 : Part 2

I guess I should post my prediction (standings) for this summers EURO. I guess, huh?

Czech Republic (7PTS)
Switzerland (3PTS)
Turkey (0PTS)

Group B
Germany (9PTS)

Romania (0PTS)

Group D

Greece (4PTS)
Sweden (4PTS)
Russia (0PTS)

Round 2:
Portugal v. Croatia (POR)
Germany v. Czech Republic (GER)
Netherlands v. Greece (NET)
Italy v. Spain (ITA)

Euro 2008 (Portugal + Italy)

Jesus, it is boiling hot here. Boiling. Why am I on the computer? Why? Well, I just came to check my emails and the bloody facebook. UGH! Hot! So, I woke up late today (12pm) just in time to watch Czech play against Switzerland. Great game, but not a fantastic result. I am not saying that a 1-0 game is horrible because it was far from it. It was a fun, but not edge-of-your-seat type of game. To sum it up, Petr Chech (the goalie of the Czechs and of Chelsea) was phenomenal. Brilliant saves. Then I watched one of the two teams I am cheering for for Euro 2008: Portugal. The other being Italy. I must say that I love Portugal's team; young, talented, fast and fun to watch. Portugal ended up beating Turkey 2-0, but things could have gone really south for Turkey. Portugal hit 3 posts and were refused a goal, which was offside. Everyone knows Christiano Ronaldo, and boy is he a player to watch, but I also love watching Simao, Nunu Gomez, Carvalho and Pepe. Italy is playing monday against Netherlands at 2:45 eastern time. W00T! Unfortunately, I will miss a good chunk of the game thanks to bloody work.
Anyways, Hot Hot Hot. Fuck Fuck Fuck!

Corks and Beach

Well, this is my first post of June. *Pops the champagne* Damn, it had to spill all over my fucking pants! So much for a celebration. Ugh! Work is boring. I am bored. I think also somewhat ecstatic. Nope! Oh, I need a vacation in the sun. Badly. Somewhere hot. South. I'm thinking Arby's. Fuck, I'm not hungry I want hot warm weather. Yes, I know I am getting that here. But I need the beach, the sand, the women (yeah) and then, only then, everything is peaceful. For a little while. Little. You know what? Actually, you don't know. I have been thinking about going to Cubs. Ever since last January I have been seriously thinking about it. Unfortunately, one of my cousins (won't mention any names, PIMPIN' J) is lazy and the other seems to be too busy. Well, you know what? Again, yes once again, you don't know. Ok, fuck. Next summer. Next summer. NEXT summer I am going to Cuba (or maybe Dominican Republic, I can settle for that). Again, I do not want to go alone. Pimpin' J better pull that rabbit out of his ass and agree to come along. Oh, I forgot, he is too busy in the shower. Jesus!
So, today - my 7th day at work this summer, seems like forever - was a little more exciting. Just a little. Don't get me wrong, it is still boring. Oh yeah. I was so excited that I started talking to myself in italian and french. This counts for another celebration.*Grabs another Champagne bottle. Slowly takes off the cork. Slowly. POP! Fuck, that Goddamn cork had to hit me in the bloody forehead. Jesus!*

Full Chamber #2

Everything is spinning out of control,
Every heart is turning black and cold,
We all know the answer, but we are all too blame,
No one has the courage to put this all behind,
With all the murders and disasters proceeding every lie,
If they are wrong, then we are also wrong,
And everything will burn turning us to ashes,
All of the yells, all of the bullet holes.

The government broadcasts their lies on the stations,
But we believe 'em (x2),
The children yelling and screaming now,
But we don't hear 'em (x2)

The calm before the storm,
Through every empty soul,
A surge of protests, but not strong enough,
A human connection, but we still decide to kill,
Another empty answer with an empty reason,
This hollow heart is shrinking and leaving peace behind,
This prison cell can't seal this anger inside,
The harder they fall, the easier it is to live.

The government broadcasts their lies on the stations,
But we believe 'em (x2),
The children yelling and screaming now,
But we don't hear 'em (x2)

One bullet left in the chamber,
One sad cruel war,
One bullet left in the chamber,
One bullet left in the chamber,
All is up to you.

That nasty bugger........surprise ending, even I can't believe I wrote that.

One of my pet peeves is forgetting certain lines of a poem/lyric I have been reciting in my head, forgetting ideas, what I was trying to say in conversations and sometimes forgetting important things my friends tell me. Where am I getting with this? Well, nowhere. I'm just letting you read this recycled crap because I love to make your head spin and your current important ideas melt into a liquid toxic. For crying out loud, of course I am trying to get somewhere. Recently I had two great poems/lyrics that I was singing in my head during a metro ride. Yes, I sometimes sing in my head, making poems/lyrics to pass the time. Anything wrong with that? I DON"T want to hear it! Anyways, back to my interesting pile of *pauses* I meant my interesting something something.
So, I made these two great poems/lyrics and then on my way out of the metro it was gone. Just like that. That bastard. It could not have waited until I found a paper and pen and wrote it down. Of course not. Sometimes I wish that whenever I have great lyrics for my poem/song it would automatically be written down somewhere. Like on a computer. Who am I kidding, that will never happen. Stupid technology. Bloody wasteland.

Second Day and I find out about what I have been missing

Second day of work is complete. Finally. Another 3 months of work. . . I mean, it is fun at times but hard and heavy work nonetheless. Ungh! I also just found out that New Found Glory has a new album, which came out a month ago. Yes, I like New Found Glory. Always have. And yes, I am shocked and surprised that I did not know about this. Well, I must admit that I have not been reading much about them for the past several months. Damn. It's funny how I can go months and months without listening to any New Found Glory songs and still remember a good chunk of the lyrics.

Full Chamber

More money, more greed,
The world is destroying itself within,
More poverty, more blood,
Homes burned, no shelter here,
More weapons, more bullets,
This whole nation is driving into chaos,
More wars, more deaths,
It's more important to build arms
Than help the poor!

Tax the poor because there's too much security
To lose with the rich,
Free this world from the despair you create.
Instead of finding excuses and creating wars,
More money, more greed,
More wars, more deaths,
Why pay for education?
Dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum
All this money bleeding every nations color,
This government pushing its people into the fire,
More weapons, more bullets,
More fire, more fire,
Fight the law, fight the law.

Dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum
Why does everyone suffer for another's fucking action?
Why don't they help the sick with all the money they have?
Why don't they cease fire and evacuate the burning cities?
More money, more greed,
More poverty, more blood,
More weapons, more deaths,
It's more important to build arms
Than help the poor.

Tomorrow is not too far away

Well so much for relaxing. Tomorrow I start working until mid august. Bright and early to 4 pm. Fuck! I have not done much the last week or so. Well, actually I played for a shit load of hours and I did read quite a bit of Something Wicked This Way Comes, which I am 35 pages from completing it. Wonderful book from my favorite author, Ray Bradbury. I strongly recommend Fahrenheit 451. In case you do not know what Fahrenheit 451 is about, the movie Equilibrium with Christian Bale was slightly based on it. Awful movie though. Fahrenheit 451: futuristic world where firefighters are not putting fire away, but they are burning books which are considered fatal and destructive upon the human mind. Awesome book.

Operation Wicked

I think I should play GTA 4. I mean, I want to play GTA 4 now. I should. Claudio, you must play GTA 4. I don't know. I have been playing a whole lot of Devil May Cry 4, and not much of GTA. Heck, I have been playing for too many hours. Two many. Umm, 'two' as in two missions and I put the game away. Umm, I like that. TWO. Seems logical and achievable. It should not take long, maybe half an hour. I could burn some cars in the game; raise the wanted level to four, ah fuck, maybe to six - the maximum attainable. Perhaps a little. . . . maybe I should get off the laptop and plug in the xbox 360. Maybe. Maybe? A little bit?
.
.
.
.
.
Why the fuck am I still writing? Why? You know what? maybe some "Something Wicked This Way Comes." Yeah, maybe I should read a little more of that. GTA 4? Something Wicked This Way Comes? GTA 4? Something Wicked This Way Comes? GTA 4? Something Wicked This Way Comes? GTA 4? Something Wicked This Way Comes? GTA 4? Something Wicked This Way Comes? GTA 4? Something Wicked This Way Comes? GTA 4? Something Wicked This Way Comes? GTA 4? Something Wicked This Way Comes?
.
.
.
.
I know, "Pitch Black!" The movie of course.

Already a week

It has already been a week since I finished college. Well, if you want to be technical you stubborn pricks, you, it has been 6 days 11 hours and 29 minutes since I finished college. For fuck sake! Anyways, before I piss anyone off, allow me to move on. You may be asking, "What have you been doing since then?" Well, I doubt you are asking, so let me fucking tell you anyways. I know, I can be a little edgy sometimes, hence the vulgar words. As I was saying, what have I been doing these last 6 days 11 hours and 26 minutes? Let me see, I got an xbox 360 with 3 games but you already know that. Why am I repeating this? Who cares? Anyone? I have worked a little bit around the house, not much though; cutting the grass, redoing the stairs in the front of the house and shit loads to do once I start work monday. Sounds interesting, huh? Yeah, fuck right. I love movies. I love them a lot. However, I have not seen many in the last month or so. The last movie I saw was SNATCH, which finished a half hour ago. Prior to SNATCH the last movie I saw was IRON MAN, which was a couple of weeks ago. Anyways, who gives a flying fuck about that, right?
Not much in the sports world except for Baseball. But who wants to read about that. Well, I do. Oh, fuck it. Actually, you know what? I am in a good mood right now; I'm not tired and I feel like playing some more GTA 4. Though it is late. Then again it isn't. Time to cut the cord on this post.
Tomorrow I am watching the champions league final between Manchester United and Chelsea. It is a known fact that I do not follow Chelsea as precicely and carefully as my friend, who is now in England chewing his fingernails and refusing to get any sleep before the big game. However, that does not mean that I do not watch their games or follow certain players like Drogba and Lampard. If you do not know these players, then you should look them up on google. My favorite soccer teams reside in the Italian league; AC Milan, Foggia (third division) and Rome. At this moment I do not have a favorite player, but if you got this far in my post I guess you are curious. There are a lot of players I follow and keep track of, but there are not any that I would consider my favorite player. For the sake of this post I shall name a few more players I keep track of; Christiano Ronaldo, Luca Toni, Kaka, Pato, Drogba, Lampard, Gerrard, Cannavarro, Zambrotta, Messi, Ibrahimovich and Raul (as far as attack/defense go). My favorite goalie (in my opinion he is the best goalie out there) is Gianluigi Buffon.

Anyways, cut the cord.

Hooked on xbox 360

That is right. Ever since I got the xbox 360 last wednesday I have been hooked. I have enjoyed, actually love, the 3 games I got; GTA 4, F.E.A.R: files, and Devil May Cry 4. Oh, God the joy. *Enormous smile* It also does not help that my brother got Rock Band for PS2; yes, I am hooked on that too. Fuck. What really gets me hooked to the xbox 360 are the achievements you may receive per game. Achievements are points obtained for completing various events. They may be completing a certain level, the entire game, doing some crazy ass stunt(s), killing a certain amount of bad motherfuckers and so on. Crazy shit, fool.

A little here, a little there

What better way to spend a friday than to be with all the people from your program at your teacher's house. That's right. Drinking alcohol, commiserating, laughing, some smoking, others singing, one looking for lost keys, another barfing in the toilet bowl then on the sidewalk several times, and hugging one another. Yes, what can be better than that? I do not know, that is why I ask? Well, I lied. There is nothing better. Then again, maybe there is, but I am not rich. My memory of friday night is a little here and there. I was not drunk or at least I believe I wasn't. Oh, here I go again. I had about 1.5-2 liters of beer before the party - like twenty, thirty minutes before. Then five beers (2 stellas, 1 canadian and 2 smirnoff ice). One thing I should point out; when I was at the bar I went to piss twice, but once I left the bar and entered the subway I had to piss again. Unfortunately, I had to wait until I got to my teachers house. I prayed that I could hold it because I had no change of clothes and I was NOT looking forward to showing up at my teachers house smelling like fresh urine. NO SIR! I get to my teachers house, thank God, and the first thing I say to him, "Hi Dan, where is your bathroom because I have to piss real bad." What a nice greeting.
Apparently someone fell down the stairs because he was drunk (I believe it was 5-10 steps). I did not witness this, but I did hear the THUMP.
I do remember contemplating whether I should call my cousin at 9ish (James, correct me if I am wrong) or not. Apparently I did, and left the following message on the answering machine with a drunken tone (I believe), "Yo what's up BRUDDAH call me back BYE." NOTE: the words in cap are those I emphasized with a loud tone. The next day, saturday, I look in my phone only too realize that I text my friend at 10pm friday night. Keep in mind that I DO NOT remember doing this. Thank GOD it was nothing embarrassing.

Blood on my hands

They got the pistol pressed against the back of his head,
Fingers quivering, trigger about to snap back,
They got him playing Russian roulette
With no cards, only fear paying for life,
Another bomb goes off in the back,
The bunker blown, blood gushing from the thousand limbs,
They got him conforming to their values,
Only way to survive,
The night turns to hell; his life shattered in vain,
A million rounds and a pool of blood,
Hands quivering, eighty images flickering in 5 seconds,
So much ethnic cleansing,
They got their back to the wall,
With blood on their hands,
With blood on their hands.

The poor fight to survive,
But political and culture beliefs hold them back,
They got a semi pressed against their chest,
A shot if they refuse to change views,
The country is almost gone,
No more homes, no more shelter,
Only the graves to hide in,
The country is the prisoner of war,
This destruction, poisoned within,
They got their backs to the wall,
With blood on their hands,
With blood on their hands.

Kick Out The Jams

Today was something. Priceless moment? No, not really. What did I do today? The memory seems to be fading, but I do remember two key moments. One being the purchase of an X-Box 360 and 3 games (GTA 4, Mass Effect and F.E.A.R expansion), which I have been waiting for two weeks. Two Weeks!!! Two long weeks. Very long. I am exstatic and I cannot wait to play GTA and F.E.A.R tomorrow. Hopefully I do not over do it and play 6+ hours. Oh, fuck it. Games are meant to be played and overused like laws are meant to be broken. Also, it is GTA 4. I mean, come on people - GTA 4 needs lots of care and playing time. It is a law. A religion. I kid you not. Mass effect is an amazing and as realistic a game can get, but I do have one minor, well major, problem. I bought the french version, which means I have to return it tomorrow, possibly, in exchange for an english version. It will be done. It MUST be done. The F.E.A.R expansion game was a little bonus for myself. Plain shooting game. My cup of tea. Well, GTA is also my cup of tea. Oh, fuck it, all three games are my cup of tea, coffee, alcohol beverage, coke, pepsi and all that jazz.
Now, to the good and bad news. I have finally completed my english exit exam - my last college exam. The instructions were simple to follow, and the minimum length of the paper was a joke (750 words). I must have written 1,000-1,200 words. Maybe more. Though I believe my thesis was cow shit, and the second last paragraph on the author was horse piss. Real awful. Well, I am glad that is done. The exam was four hours, and knowing me I used almost the entire time allowed. The worst part of the exam was my fucking running nose. I finished a pack of 10 kleenex (you know, the small package?) - it was icky and fucked up. After I handed in the three booklets I literally ran to the bathroom to blow my nose. What a bitch! Ugh!
Once that bloody exam was over, I decided to go to Chapters (book store) and HMV (music/movie store). For 3 months I had debated whether to buy the Rage Against the Machine (yes, I know I talk a lot about them. I am sorry) cover album called Renegades, but I had always bought other cds or movies for that matter. Well, today I decided to end this charade once and for all. Yes, I bought it for 9$. Sweet sweet sound and incredible vocals :D

Nothing like singing songs *YES, SIR!*

Operation Who The Fuck Cares

Well, three months paid off. I have finally shaved my beard and my mustache. One more day of college. Yes, Motherfucker! English exit exam: minimum of 750 words. Disgraceful. I do not want to write another essay; I believe I have suffered enough this semester. Fack! Oh, also one more day until I get my xbox-360. YES, motherfucker.
One.
More.
Fucking.
Day.

Almost Done

That's right, I am almost done college. Monday is the last day of class for me and then I got the english exit exam on wednesday (8-12). I am currently working on my US History essay/test for monday, mind you that I have one class on monday from 8:30-10. This upcoming wednesday, after I complete my english exit exam, I will be buying an xbox 360 with GTA 4 and possibly another game. For 'that' other game, I have narrowed my choices: Mass Effect, Devil May Cry 4 and Dead Rising. So far it looks like GTA 4 and Mass Effect. Pending.
The current bands/singers I am listening to are: Rage Against the Machine (no shit!), Deftones, Cypress HIll, Elvis Costello (Who?) and The National.

Iron Man (Comic + Movie)

I intended to talk only about the movie I saw this past wednesday, but one thing led to another. I am certain that not many know this, but I used to read quite a bit of comics back in the day. 90s, of course, and early 00s. For some odd reason I stopped. I guess I lost interest in comics, but I have always loved the aspects of the superhero. I have read Spider-Man, who hasn't?, Superman, Dead Pool, Iron Man, X-Men, Wolverine, Fantastic Four (only one comic), Batman, Hulk, Avengers and others that I cannot think of at this moment.
The Super Hero that I have followed and loved reading about was, and still is, Iron Man. As I mentioned, I stopped reading comics in early 00s, but Iron Man was my favorite. I remember the good old days when Tony Stark brought the Iron Man suit in his suit case. Oh, the glory. *happy face* I always loved Iron Man and War Machine scenes. War Machine was . . . . amazing. Anyways, the point I am bringing about, if any at all, is that I have gone back to those good old days where I would sit outside and read comic books. Yesterday I bought the graphic novel, Iron Man: Extremis, and Civil War: Frontline 1. I have completed Iron Man: Extremis, which was one hell of a story (great writing) and astonishing fight scenes. Now, you don't have to take my word for it. I am sure that comic book experts out there are better at criticizing and applauding every single comic out there because they have studied it, and made it their religion. One of the numerous aspects I enjoyed about Extremis was the amount of reference to how it all started. I know the story already, but for those who are not clear about it there are some scenes that mention how Tony Stark became Iron Man. Obviously, these scenes are not just shoved into the comic for the sake of shoving it in; there is an importance for its addition. Now to the movie.
I am going to make it brief as possible, and hopefully I will not ruin the story. For those of you who do not know, Tony Stark/Iron Man is played by one of my favorite actors after Denzel Washington, Robert Downey Jr. Mr. Downey Jr. brings a dashing and dry humor to the film, which works out perfectly: that is Robert Downey Jr. 101. The first half of the movie is spent on describing who Tony Stark is and what he does. Though within the first twenty minutes Tony Stark is captured by terrorists who demand him to build them the "Jericho," a powerful bomb like weapon (don't worry, everything is explained better in the movie). The other half of the movie is, well, Iron Man.
The cast was strong, no doubt about that. I believe there was great chemistry between Robert Downey Jr. and Gweneth Paltrow, but once again, that is just my opinion. There was also Terrence Howard playing militant, James Rhodes, and the famous Jeff Bridges, a.k.a The Dude, playing Obadiah Stane. The only problem I have with the cast was the lack of screen time and lines for Terrence Howard, who is a remarkable actor. Nevertheless, I believe they will build him up in Iron Man 2 because he will be ......... I will NOT say who.

Fuck!

I am sick and I do not know why I am still up. Pretty much bored. The worst part is that I have to go to school tomorrow despite only having one class from 8:30-10 because I need to hand in an assignment. Fuck!

Extinction (curtain call)

The knees are swelling
From your beatings and your killer machine,
The lights dim, the curtains close,
The whiplash, another shot to the stomach,
The veins punctured, now the blood erupts
Spilling and bubbling all over the floor,
The hand swollen, fingers chopped
A nervous reaction, families hiding under their homes,
A fire burning inside: all this pain,
The knees bruised, broken,
Swollen by your unecessary beatings,
A harsh time with the American dreamin'.

A curtain call,
Here come the forces swarming in,
A bullet through the hearts of a million,
Distinction of the poverty in this world,
With a semi-automatic, this is extinction,
A trigger-to-heart lesson,
The red, white and blue now inverted,
The hearts of the 52 stars seem to disappear,
Here comes extinction.

Blog 116

This is my first post in May. How nice. Not sure what to say that is not news yet. I have already talked about getting an X-box 360 , Grand Theft Auto 4 and one of the following games: F.E.A.R, Condemned, Dead Rising and Devil May Cry 4. I am still up in the air on the second game. No worries, I got a week to decide before I buy the console and the games. I have already mentioned that April will be a month of hell in previous posts with the amount of essays. And it sure fucking was. However, I am glad that April is over and all those disgusting essays are done. Now, May: by the 14th I am done mother fuckers!
Also, incase none of you have heard of last.fm ( http://www.last.fm/dashboard/ ) you should take a look. I have already reached 10,013 plays of Rage Against the Machine. Proud number. On the right of this page there is an example of 'last.fm;' a display of the last 10 songs I have listened too.
What else? Umm. Oh, yeah. Unless there is major hockey news (trades, rumors) there will be nothing hockey related posts until the season begins in October 08'.

So I have been thinking

About getting an xbox 360. What sparked the mood? A little bit of Grand Theft Auto 4. A little bit of getting back in the mood of playing video games as I was a while back. For some reason I have stalled for the last year on playing video games. Mind you I still have a PS2 in which I had owned Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and San Andreas. Damn San Andreas was so damn good, but I kept getting stuck at the fucking airplane tutor/training missions. I am not a pilot, OK!!
As I mentioned I do have a PS2, but I think it is time for a change and upgrade. A PS3 will cost me way too much, 400$ for the console, another hundred or so for a game. However, the Xbox can cost me as low as 279$ plus GTA 4 at 59$, which makes it reasonable to buy. I am not saying that I will buy an xbox 360 and GTA, but I have been thinking about it and so far it is a yes. If I end up buying the xbox 360 and GTA 4, then it will only be once I have finished this semester (14th of May, in 2 weeks bitch!).

This bloody fucking law paper is fucking pissing me the fuck off. THERE! The paper has to be 10-14 pages, and so far I have 12 pages with two paragraphs left to write (conclusion being one of them). So, it seems that Mr. Sully will have a stack of 15 pages to read during the weekend. I hope he loves it, and hopefully he is in a GREAT fucking mood when he reads it. Bloody fucking hell. I wish I could say that this is my last essay for college, but I would lie if I did. After this bloody bitch I will be busy and fucked up as I write my english essay, which is a staggering 40 FUCKING percent. Does this teacher on heroin or something? 5 hours and 20 minutes before the Boston-Montreal Game 7 begins. Crank that shit up. BULLS ON PARADE. I'm telling you, if you really want to see me dance and/or sing while i'm kind of drunk or just drinking, all you have to do is put some Rage Against the Machine. It always does the trick. Fuck, I am pumped for tonight. Damn, I wish I had brought my Ipod.

Game 7 Baby, Game 7 (And little story)

Just when you thought the Bruins were better off quitting and not fighting for the series, the Bruins end up responding. Big time. I remember, i remember clearly. When it was announced that Boston were to face Montreal in the first round there was immediate pannic. Boston had lost 11 straight against Montreal and were calculated as easy prey's for Montreal. Typical. As much as a Bruins fan hates the Montreal Canadiens, one cannot argue with that call. Throughout the season Boston were beaten and hung out to dry by the Canadiens. They one us. Period. Therefore, it was a unnanymous prediction that Montreal would win. Some said in 4 - a sweep - while others said in five, max. I did so myself. In an earlier post I predicted that Montreal would win in 6 games only because their record in the previous 10 games against Boston was one sided. However, I did say in the post PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS that if Boston would somehow push a game 7, then Boston would eliminate Montreal. Well, I am here to say that I am sticking with that call. Yes, it is a little early considering that game 7 is one day away (Monday), but it is anyone's game: with the way Boston is playing they have the better odds.
Only one hockey analyst (i guess you can say that) claimed Boston would win the series, though, in 6 games. That man was featured on www.thefourthperiod.com . I said this countless times, especially after game 4 (Montreal leading the series 3-1) that I was proud of the Bruins as a team no matter what happens in game 5. And I still am proud. Tonight's game brought the adrenaline and excitement all back, especially when I saw Cam Neely pumping his fists when Boston took the lead in game 6.
I went to game 6 with a friend tonight, who told me not to get involved with the dumbass (sorry to use this word) Habs fans who were chanting "Boston sucks, Boston Faggots, Boston sucks dick, and the list goes on." After Montreal took the 1-0 lead, I turned to them, being the only Bruins fan in the bar/restaurant, and said, "Don't get too excited, it is not over yet." So they kept chanting and insulting Boston, and I kept my cool, laughed and shaked my head. After the game, one of them came up to me and gave me two middle fingers yelling, "Faggot." So, I paused and remembered what my friend said 'don't get involved,' ( I did not want something to happen to my friend, you know?), so I turned to the guy (I had to say something, nothing mean though) and said "you see what happens when you get to excited thinking the game is over." After a while the guy came back from the bathroom and started telling me, once again, "Boston sucks, Boston faggots, they are the worst team in the league, and so on." Again, I looked at the guy, who came to the bar/restaurant with a group of 6 guys (2 girls), and said, "Look man, I'm not going to start arguing with people like you, but if Boston sucks, if Boston is the worst team in the league, then why is there going to be a game 7?" The guy just left. Just like that.
Anyways, I am happy that I did not get too involved in a heated argument.

Robin Hood

Of him, I know little. (sounds funny...). A friend of mine has been continuously talking about the series, which airs on BBC television, so I decided to give it a try. Though, I was uncertain about the acting or the entire movement of the show, I decided to give it a shot and maybe get a good laugh out of it. Tonight I decided to watch an episode or two. However, little did I know, one episode led to another, and that other episode led to another and so on. At this moment, 12:48am, I am at episode 5 and I will be watching a couple more before going to bed. I don't know why it did not come to my mind so quickly, but Robin Hood reminds me of the old Hercules series with Kevin Sorbo, as well as Young Hercules with the now-famous Ryan Gosling, and last but not least - yes, I know you will get a good laugh at this one - The adventures of Sinbad (1996-1998). Why? How? Well, let's see, these show, as well as Robin Hood, bring a fun paced adventure fulfilled with heroes and villains, and of course some sort of love story as we see in Robin Hood between Marian, Guy and Robin Hood. Ok, it is a love-triangle. . .sort of.
Call me corny, or whatever the name is, but I enjoy shows like Hercules, Young Hercules, The adventures of Sinbad and Robin Hood. The adventure and romance kind of grows on me, I guess. Geez, look at the time, what am I saying. I don't want to spill something I should not be saying. Off I go to watch some more entertaining Robin Hood.
Thank you Princess Hood. (LAUGHS OUT LOUD).

Playoff Predictions (My post-game comments are in the 'comment' box)

As you can tell the Bruins are in the playoffs, which means that a good chunk of my future posts will be dedicated to the Bruins-Habs series. Nevertheless, this will most likely stop once the Bruins are out of the playoff picture. I will give you my own NHL playoff prediction of all 8 series (East and West). However, I will only give you an analytical analysis, or at least close to it, of the Bruins-Habs series.

East:

1. Montreal v. 8. Boston (MTL lead 3-2)

Game 1: Boston 1 - Montreal 4
Game 2: Boston 2 - Montreal 3
Game 3: Montreal 1 - Boston 2
Game 4: Montreal 1 Boston 0
Game 5: Boston 5 Montreal 1
Game 6:
Game 7:

As many of you know by now, I am an avid Boston Bruins fan and have been for a dozen or so years. That being said, the best of me (biases) persuades me to chose or atleast hope for an upset which means a Boston series victory. However, it is quite obviously who is and should be the favorite to win the series: that team is Montreal. I believe that Montreal will win in 6 games. However, do not think for one second that this will be a walk in the park for Montreal. Far from it. Yes, Montreal has won 11 straight against Boston dating back to last season, but as I have mentioned and stressed this countless times, the playoffs are a different atmosphere, a different ball game so to speak. For Bruins fans looking at our record against the Habs, 0-7-1, is not a pretty figure. I know that many habs fans, if not, all, believe that Montreal will have an easy series that will last no longer than 5 games: if lucky, the bruins will push for a game 6. I beg to differ. Though I have chosen for Montreal to win in 6 does not mean that I have lost faith in Boston. You can look at this series in several ways. Looking at it realistically then one will chose Montreal to win it easily, maybe a series sweep, maybe in 5. My prediction that Montreal would win in 6 games is a realistic prediction, which may be the wrong thing to do because so many other important factors must apply. Besides the fact that Boston would have a better record (superior one) than Montreal had the Bruins not faced the Habs this year, one must look at this fact: Boston have NOTHING to lose. Nothing. Ziltch. The worst teams to face whether it is in the season or in the playoffs are those who are eliminated or are the underdogs respectively.
If we look at Boston one may and should see a team that has resurrected against all odds. If you thought that Montreal fought against all odds by reaching first, which is a huge accomplishment, wait until you hear about Boston. Since the lockout Boston has stunk up the place. Seriously. Bad management as always, horrible coaches (Sullivan and Lewis) and so on. However, this year was a little different. The Bruins acquired a number one goalie, Manny Fernandez, and signed a fighter/fourth line player, Shawn Thornton. Yes, I know, not that big of a change. The Bruins has got a new coach, Claude Julien, whom I disliked but didn't know much about. Then came all the predictions from the so-called hockey experts. Who were predicted to finish last in the EAST? None other than Boston. Keep in mind they chose Boston to finish last with a FULL TEAM. Now, Montreal was not chosen to make the playoffs by most so-called hockey expects. Montreal was classed between 9-11th spot. So, the season begins and nothing went right for Boston. Patrice Bergeron, arguably Boston's best forward, gets a concussion and is out for the year. Manny Fernandez plays 4 games before hurting his knee: he is out for the year. Ever since the 9th game Boston has never played with a full team. Never. Glen Murray misses 20 games, Aaron Ward (D) misses about the same amount, Andrew Ference (D) constantly hurt, misses 20+ games, Zdeno Chara misses 5 games, Tim Thomas misses about 8 games, and the list goes on. Against all odds we make the playoffs. Boston, with half a team, make the playoffs. How about that? Why did they make it? Claude Julien said, "There are teams that are out of the playoffs but have a better roster than us. The reason why we are in the playoffs and they are not is because of TEAM WORK."
A team with nothing to lose against a team, the favorites to win the series, who have dominated the Bruins for the past 2 1/2 years and are 23-7 in playoffs series. If Boston win, it will be in 7 games. And the reason why they would win is because of TEAM WORK.
Yes, I have chosen Montreal in 6, but I will not be surprised at all if Boston win the series.

2. PIttsburgh v. 7. Ottawa
Key players: Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Pittsburgh in 6.

3. Washington v. 6. Philadelphia
Key player: Cristobal Huet and Ovechkin. Washington in 6

4. New Jersey v. 5. Rangers
Lunqvist v. Brodeur. Rangers will win in 6

WEST:
1. Detroit v. 8. Nashville
Nashville has nothing to lose, which makes it much harder for Detroit. I'm going with an upset: Nashville in 6.

2. San Jose v. 7. Calgary
Key player: Joe THornton, but watch for Patrick Marleau to explode. San Jose in 6

3. Minnesota v. 6. Colorado
Key player: Marian Gaborik. Minnesota in 5

4. Anaheim v. 5. Dallas
Key player: Giguere and Pronger. Anaheim in 5

Tick Tock, 48 hours

Straight off the bat, this post is NOT, I repeat, it is NOT about Eddie Murphy's comedy/action movie. Nope. Though I must admit that the post will present some sort of action and the usual, well maybe, some comedy. Now back to business. I am so hyper and anxiously anticipating round one of the playoffs between Montreal and Boston. 48 hours away. Yes, good for you, you realized the meaning of "48 hours" in the title of this post. Round of applause please.
Ok. I guess I should write something analytical about the series. Unfortunately, I have been so busy that I am surprised at myself for finding some time to write this. Nevertheless, I should post something tomorrow about the series: the end of the week would be the latest. Once that is posted I will not post until the series is over since I will, again, be overloaded with essays and cheesy exams (though, I cannot think of any) over the month.
To cut this short, my prediction is Montreal in 6. Realistically, the way Montreal has dominated us this year (8-0) and over the last 2-3 years, they should win it easily. However, I beg to differ because the playoffs are a whole new ball game. It is all about 'who wants it more.' What better revenge than eliminating the Habs now where it hurts most. That is the SWEET REVENGE.
Needless to say, if the Boston Bruins manage to pull off an upset, which I really hope will happen, they will do it in game 7.
